• A grant to High School Lovers of Language (LOL), to produce a book of collected cross-cultural memoirs based on life stories of their grandparent; its goal: to preserve priceless stories and the ties that bind them to their grandchildren for future generations. • $500 to all 4 elementary schools (total $2,000), to fund a “Taste of Opera” workshop, introducing students to the basics of opera and live performance by a professional tenor.
• $500 to all 4 elementary schools (total of $2,000), to fund a chamber music assembly, in which a trio of professional musicians performed and conducted “master class” on the basics of classical music.
• A grant to the High School toward its “Oral History Project of the Fort Lee.
• Sponsored the High School’s annual performance of a musical/play in March 2010. Our grant of over $1,600 paid for the rights to the play and music, making it possible for the school to stage Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
